The Lexi Wants Your Bra!

One of the highlights of my recent trip to the South African project over Christmas was a visit to one of the township visitors centres, which hosts activities for the kids over the summer break (some days over 40 degrees!).  These centres generate tourist income for the township projects by selling arts and crafts, and this particular one had a music and dance workshop for kids.  They were brilliant, but the most dominant thought in the minds of all us women was "those girls need their first bras".

We made enquiries over the rest of our trip and, yes - the girls do need bras.  They are expensive, a luxury and nobody's priority, yet they provide dignity and privacy, not to mention that they build confidence.  So please, all you women and girls (and men so-inclined), bring us your bras!  Nearly new please, something you would be happy for your daughter to wear.  Bring them to The Lexi before any screening.  Our outgoing ops manager, Fernando, will travel to SA with a suitcase full of bras when he goes off volunteering.  No tip-offs to customs please.....

Best wishes,
Sally
